We had a whole bunch of different herbs, and we decided to dry the herbs, so we could have good herbs during the winter. I love taking pictures of all the herbs, so much green! :) Cut all your herbs. Wash them all, then take the leaves off the stems of the herbs that need the leaves off. (If you don't know, usually if the stems are thicker and harder, you take the leaves off the stems) Put them in the dehydrator, try to make sure you know which herbs are on which tray. Put the heat to 105°F. Then put the timer to 1 hour. In 1 hour check the herbs. If they are still not dry, put it on for another hour. Keep doing that until your herbs are dry. Once the herbs are dry, put them into separate glass jars. My parents got a Food Saver for Christmas several years ago. You cant find this model, but there are a lot of other models on Amazon. We L-O-V-E the Food Saver. We've used it to seal up different foods, and to vacuum seal jars. My dad and brother especially like using the vacuum sealed food for their trips to Red Fern. That way they can pre-cook stuff like bacon, burgers, and even donair meat to make donairs. The picture above is a jar vacuum sealer. There are two different sizes (I think, at least we have only two sizes. There might be more, I am not sure) Is it just me or does the jar vacuum sealer look like this mad scientists machine from The Muppet Movie? The vacuum sealer for jars isn't great for wet stuff, and not for long periods of time, but if you just want a quick and easy seal, this is a great thing. https://www.amazon.ca/FoodSaver-V3460-with-Starter-Kit/dp/B0048BPWGO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501195977&sr=8-1&keywords=food+saver+v3460
